Shell Protection Wrapper

Code Protection

Besides software update, the shell wrapper also provides code protection to protect your software, algorithms, and intellectual property against tampering and reverse engineering.

UpdateCheck API

The UpdateCheck API includes 32/64-bit DLLs, Class Library, and .NET Component that allow better customization and seamless integration to add the software update functionality into your application. It also provides greater flexibility to support more app types (e.g. .NET WPF, MS Access/Excel/ Word Macro, Visual FoxPro).

Smart Updater

The Updater is an agent for the application that runs in background and performs automatic tasks (e.g. check for updates, download, and installation). It includes a rich set of features and options to meet the needs of your deployment.

Automatic Download Resume

The Updater can resume unfinished download due to any reason (e.g. network problems, slow servers) in the middle, without having to restart all over again. If the user shuts down the computer, when it is turned on, the Updater can also resume the download automatically.

HTTP & FTP Download

The Updater supports both HTTP and FTP download. For FTP, the Updater can automatically logon to the server using the saved user/password.

Online Installer

You can build the Updater as the Online Installer, a small program that downloads the setup package and installs the software automatically.         So you can distribute just one single Online Installer without having to constantly distribute a new setup package for every new version.

The Update Server provides an advanced software update solution that allows you to manage and distribute software updates more efficiently, including update subscription and local update server.

With the Update Server, it is simple & easy to provide software update subscription to your customers. The Update Server verifies the subscription automatically before allowing the application to access to the updates.

Update History Log

The Update Server keeps track of all software updates performed by the user. It allows you to monitor the status and activities of the updates provided to users, which can be helpful in scenarios (e.g. when providing technical support).

Local Update Server

The Update Server can be deployed as a local update server that allows the enterprise to download, cache, and manage the updates to the user locally.
