USB Key Making Method

Select the option to make Key on to USB flash drives. When USB LicenseKey Manager makes the USB License Key (dongle), it can check the USB flash drive specifications and determine if they meet the technical standards required to make the dongle, such as read-only unique device ID and characteristics. Since some USB flash drive may not meet the technical standards (for example, it lacks the unique device ID), USB LicenseKey Manager also provides an alternative method to make the dongle. However, this method will result in the dongle with substandard security, which may be at risk of dongle duplication.

Standard. USB LicenseKey Manager uses the standard method regardless of the USB flash drive specifications. However, if the USB flash drive does not meet the technical standards, you may find that the dongle does not function properly on other machines.

Standard if possible. USB LicenseKey Manager checks the USB flash drive specifications before making the dongle, using the standard method. If the USB flash drive does not meet the technical standards, a warning message is displayed.

Alternative. USB LicenseKey Manager uses the alternative method regardless of the USB flash drive specifications (even if the USB flash drive meets the technical standards).

Standard if possible or Alternative. USB LicenseKey Manager checks the USB flash drive specifications before making the dongle. It uses the standard method if the USB flash drive meets the technical standards. Otherwise, it automatically switches to use the alternative method.

noteNOTE: The dongle made using the alternative method will show the status as [WRN#1] indicating the substandard security and risk of dongle duplication.

noteNOTE: The dongle made using the alternative method does not support the macOS platform.
