Customize Messages

Customize messages and information that the application uses to communicate with the end-user.

Dialog Box Style

Select a style of dialog boxes to appear when the protected application shows messages and information.

Default Dialog Box

This is the Windows dialog box style. It is simple and compatible with any Windows version. However, it is limited to customize the messages to appear in the dialog boxes. You can make customizations in the provided fields of dialog boxes.

Default Dialog Box / Auto Activation

This is the Windows dialog box style that comes with the auto-activation option. It allows the end-user to choose to activate offline by using Registration ID/License Key, or activate online by using Activation Key. Note that the auto-activation option requires the Activation Server, which is included in ElecKey Internet and Enterprise editions.

When using auto-activation, you also need to specify the URL address of the Activation Web Service in the Web Service URL under the Options tab of the Registration Dialog Box Properties.

HTML Dialog Box

The HTML dialog box style, just like a HTML page, allows you to customize everything in the dialog box, for example, layouts, texts, fonts, languages, buttons, adding pictures, as well as using JavaScript or VBScript to add more functionality. A HTML dialog box template file will be generated when you finish integrating the protection, which you can then make customizations on the template file.

note NOTE: The HTML dialog box style uses a web browser control SHDOCVW.DLL that comes with Internet Explorer 4 and later. The computer must have this DLL installed to be able to load the HTML dialog box. In addition, the HTML dialog box style requires the ElecKey system files HDLG20.DLL (32-bit) and HDLG6420.DLL (64-bit) that provide an interface between the protected application and the web browser. These DLLs must be delivered along with the protected application.

note NOTE: If you choose to use the HTML dialog box style, you do not need to specify messages in the provided fields of dialog boxes. However, it is recommended that you do so. If the protected application fails to load a HTML dialog box, it will automatically switch to use the default dialog box style.

HTML Dialog Box / Auto Activation

This is the HTML dialog box style that comes with the auto-activation option. It allows the end-user to choose to activate offline by using Registration ID/License Key, or activate online by using Activation Key. When using auto-activation, you also need to specify the URL address of the Activation Web Service in the Web Service URL under the Options tab of the Registration Dialog Box Properties.
